Dear Clear Creek Choir parents and students,
Attached below are the rosters for 2019-2020 Symphonic Chorale, Kapelle, and Chamber Singers as well as an announcement about a new after-school mixed choir named Ardore that is starting next year. Every year, it gets harder and harder to select the choir rosters because the level of performance, dedication, commitment, and audition keeps rising. There are many students who, five years ago, would have made our Chamber Singers but the same audition and performance level now places them into Kapelle. That attests both to your ability and talent as well as the level of performance that is ensured in Symphonic and Kapelle next year. There is SO MUCH TALENT and SO MANY GREAT STUDENTS in the Clear Creek Choir program, and you continue to make our jobs more and more difficult in terms of where to draw the lines for each of the ensembles. We understand that there will be some disappointed students, but please know that we have done everything we can to ensure that both of our varsity ensembles and Chamber Singers will reach their potential next year and be of the highest level possible and give as many qualified students as possible a Clear Creek Varsity Choir experience. At 72 students, Symphonic Chorale is larger than it has been since Springs and Falls were opened, and Kapelle is also bigger than it (and its predecessor Advanced Women’s Chorale) has even been. These are both a testament to the dedication and talent of you students who continue to push yourselves to reach the highest level of musical knowledge and performance, and we are set up for us all to take our Creek Choir program even further next year than we have gone before. For those students who auditioned and are not listed on the attached roster below, if you think there is an error, please contact us via email. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you return to choir in either Concordia or Cantabile where we hope you will take on the challenge of working hard on your sight reading and performance skills while also assuming the roles of leaders in those choirs to teach the new students the expectations and skills required to be a successful member of our Clear Creek Choir family. Returning members in our JV Choirs are vital to their success and the success of our program, and we hope you will take on that responsibility while working on your own skills! If you would like to contact us to get feedback on your placement, we ask that you please wait to hit send until next Monday, 6/10. We look forward to having that conversation with you, but we find that a little time allows for a more productive conversation to happen. Mr. Stultz and I are genuinely excited to get started next August to see how far all of our new choirs can go. 2019-2020 is looking great! We hope that you enjoy your summer. We can’t wait to see everyone back next year! Mr. Park and Mr. Stultz We hope that your summer has started off well and that you are all getting some much deserved rest. This year, the choir auditions continued to get harder and more competitive than in years past, and that is a testament to our students' abilities and desire to improve. But it makes selecting the rosters extremely difficult. Please believe me when I say that we deliberated these results for hours before finally settling on them. Rest assured that every choir is in good shape for achieving success next year.
Below are the rosters for next year. We wish that we could place everyone in the choir that they want, but it's just not possible. We are shorter on tenors next year, and so in order to make more spots available in Symphonic Chorale for our sopranos, altos, and basses, we decided to have some high baritones and low altos rotating in and out of tenor so that we still have a balanced sound. But we stretched the roster as far as we could, and we were still left with quite a few sopranos and altos who in years past would have qualified for Symphonic Chorale. But then again, that's why we create Advanced Women's Chorale, now called Kapelle. Because we didn't have enough open spots in Symphonic to fit all of our varsity treble singers. And so with Kapelle, we are fortunate to have a varsity choir for all of our varsity level sopranos and altos. All three of our Varsity ensembles have increase in numbers. Right now, Kapelle is in the mid-40s, Symphonic is sitting at 68, and Chamber is at 28. This is a testament to the health of our program and increasing ability of our students. If your name is not on this list, you will be in Concordia or Cantabile. Invariably, students who did not qualify for varsity need to focus more on their music-reading and sight-reading skills. These reading skills are of the utmost importance when we consider which students will be in our varsity ensembles. So if this applies to you, try not to be too discouraged, and prepare to come in next year and focus a lot on those music-reading skills. And remember, every choir student receives the same performance and competition opportunities. So if you're not satisfied with your placement, use it to motivate you to hone your skills even more and really learn how to read all of those musical symbols on the page. If you would like to contact us to get feedback on your placement, we ask that you please wait to hit send until next Monday, 6/11. We look forward to having that conversation with you, but we find that a little time allows for a more productive conversation to happen. We hope that you have a great summer, and we look forward to seeing you all back here in August. 2018-2019 Chamber Singers Soprano Zoe Beck (Sop 2) Madigan Ewing Miranda Hixson (Sop 2) Sophia Sereni (Sop 2) Skyla Sonnenburg Kat Velasco Riana Vermillion Alto Carly Allard (Alto 2 who will sometimes sing Tenor) Hailey Clough (Alto 2 who will sometimes sing Tenor) Elisabeth Elings (Sop 2) Tej’a Lane Luci Melcher (Alto 2 who will sometimes sing Tenor) Madison Plotner Haley Schrader (Sop 2) Rorie Weidman (Alto 2 who will sometimes sing Tenor) Tenor Mitchell Bonvillian Aiden Martinez Maven Mendoza Noah Young Bari-tenor (will rotate by song between bass and tenor) Jacob Bulseco Brandon Falknor Tyler Hoover Shane Wehe Bass Tony Dudley Travis Falknor Brady Raboin Hayden Spurling Joel Velasco 2018-2019 Kapelle (formerly Advanced Women’s Chorale) Soprano 1 Princess Anderson Gia Bishop Haley Boland Maci Cummings Layla de la Rosa Emma Delboccio Lauren Ferguson Shreya Gadagojou Ally Hickman Kennedy Jobe Sarah Johnson Mary Kate McMahon Ja’niya Stallworth Cali Sherbert Soprano 2 (2-pt voice split) Caroline Brocard (S) Brelyn Burger (S) Kendall Coney (S) Hailey Garcia (A) Maureen Ho-Sam-Sooi (A) Anne-Marie Kielb (A) Kira McCutchon (A) Jessica McDermand (S) Stephanie Morrison (A) Taryn Riley (S) Maddy Trevillion (A) Mia Villareal (S) Chloe Voyles (A) Janae Wheeler (S) Sarah Young (A) Alto Sahana Boosupalli Jaycee Danford Sarah DeForke Erin Flores Yancey Grice Avery Griggs Alexa Jackson Katya Licona Karla Lindo Yasmin Lopez Laney Martin Kelsey Phillips Gillian Respondek Aliyah Skipper Chloe Tankink Hannah Willis 2018-2019 Symphonic Chorale Soprano Sutton Anderson (S2) Aishu Bajracharya (S2) Zoe Beck Vallari Bhatia Alicia Brown (S2) Ally Decker Madigan Ewing Ella Gard Miranda Hixson (S2) Sarah Ischy Sammi Leard Kadee Loyd (S2) Kayla Pfeiffer Tatianna Portillo Emma Robins Skyla Sonnenburg Lexi Sultzer Kat Velasco Riana Vermillion Alto Carly Allard (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Megan Bader (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Cassidy Bouse (S2) Hailey Clough (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Emily Cook (S2) Anabella Cooper (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Alma DeLeon (S2) Elisabeth Elings Ellie Erdberg (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Rachel Jurbala (S2) Tej’a Lane (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Anna Golovko Payton Hamilton Luci Melcher (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Kate Navarro (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Madison Plotner (S2) Maddy Reeder (S2) Sophia Sereni (S2) Haley Schrader (S2) Camryn Smith (S2) Rorie Weidman (Alto 2, will sometimes sing Tenor) Bria Wullschlager Tenor Hunter Allison Mitchell Bonvillian Gavin Hernandez Colin Hyma Aiden Martinez Orion Mason Maven Mendoza Noah Young Bari-tenor (will rotate by song between bass and tenor) Jacob Bulseco Brandon Falknor Daniel Holder Tyler Hoover Shane Wehe Bass Jaidon Abdo Julian Delgado Tony Dudley Garrett Everett Travis Falknor Jose Gaytan Joseph Lucena Brady Raboin Anuar Salas Hayden Spurling Jaden Styla Joel Velasco Aiden Vermillion Dalton Ward Thank you to all of those who auditioned for placement in the 2017-2018 Clear Creek Choir program.
